Land Stay in Jeddah

Would you like to spend a few days in Jeddah before or after the diving safari, getting to know the culture and locals?

We have planned a land stay in Jeddah during our trip.

February 20 to February 24, 2024.

On February 21, we will explore the Old Town, Al Balad, and other notable places in Jeddah together with Mr. Quari (e.g., the marina, the floating mosque, and the promenade).

On February 22, we will take a hike in Moon Valley, followed by a BBQ in a cozy atmosphere.

February 23 is free for all travelers. You can visit the Red Sea Mall or simply stroll through the city, soaking in the inspiration.

On February 24, our transfer to Port Al Lith will take place, where our ship awaits us to begin our diving safari to the Farasan Banks.

Route: Liveaboard Saudi Arabia Farasan Banks (from/to Al Lith - Al Lith)

The departure port for the diving trip is the port of Al Lith, 210 km south of Jeddah. In the spring, there is a chance to encounter whale sharks just outside the port. Whale sharks feed on the plankton present in the waters. After about a 3-hour journey on the diving safari ship Almonda, you reach the first dive sites. Even these initial dive sites give you the feeling of being in an unexplored world.

The island Mar Mar not only has a beautiful dive site but also an optimal mooring location. Not far away are the islands Dohra, Jadir, and Malathu, as well as the magnificent reefs of Gorgonia, Bandu, and Long Reef. 25 nautical miles south is another reef named Sha'ab Ammar, a large horseshoe-shaped reef also used as a night mooring spot. Further south are the small islands Danak, Jabbara, and Eagle, as well as the atolls Mudarr, Fantasy, and Choopy, which provide for spectacular dives.

A common feature of these diving regions is the incredible diversity of hard and soft corals. The fish diversity in these spots is also breathtaking. Many dive sites have plateaus in the north and south where you may encounter some larger fish.

There may even be encounters with schools of hammerhead sharks. Other dive spots on this tour include the Mubarak Reef and Marbat Al Khalil, as well as the last dive site, the Canyon Reef.
