Bahari Hai

Bahari Hai is a pioneering eco-project in Kenya dedicated to protecting the marine environment and promoting sustainable communities. Through research, education, and collaboration with local stakeholders, Bahari Hai is committed to preserving marine ecosystems and improving the livelihoods of coastal communities. The project focuses on sea turtle conservation, sustainable fishing, combating poaching, and habitat restoration. Bahari Hai is an inspiring example of how conservation and community development can go hand-in-hand to create a better future for both people and nature.

Your tour leader will be Mario Passoni

Mario is a naturalist, he has worked for many years as a nature guide around the world, such as in the Maldives, Madagascar, Mozambique, Seychelles, and also in Chale Island!

In the past, he has conducted coral restoration projects and photo identification of manta rays, whale sharks, and sea turtles.

He is now the conservation and awareness project manager of the World Sustainability Foundation (WSF).

During this trip, Mario will take you to discover nature and local biodiversity, both outside and inside the water.

Insights into biology

During your stay, our naturalist will guide you through these fascinating topics:

- The wonders of the underwater world of Kenya

- The importance of mangrove forests

- The beauty of Tsavo East

But don't worry, they are not real lessons, but just nice and interactive insights to show you what you will see during both sea and land excursions.

We will also talk about conservation projects and how you can help protect biodiversity. Get ready for a journey that's as educational as it is unforgettable!

Tsavo East

Tsavo East National Park in Kenya is a truly impressive wilderness area and the largest national park in the country. It spans a vast area of over 11,000 square kilometers and offers breathtaking scenery of savannahs, bushlands, rivers, and rocky hills.

One of the unique features of Tsavo East is its famous "red elephants." These elephants take on a characteristic reddish coloration by bathing and rolling in the red laterite soil. Another fascinating sight is the maneless lions that live in the park.

Here you can observe elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, gazelles, and many other animals in their natural habitat. The park is also home to a rich birdlife with over 500 species.

Tsavo East National Park offers an unforgettable safari experience and the opportunity to experience the untouched wilderness of Africa.

Day 2: Explore Temple Point

Arrive in Paradise Explore Temple Point and its surroundings. Arrive in paradise and get 100% in the mood for your vacation. Before we start exploring Kenya on day 2.

Day 3 to Day 5: Diving in the National Park Watamu

Diving in the National Park Diving in the Watamu Marine National Park on the Kenyan coast is an unforgettable experience for every diving enthusiast. The underwater world of this protected park is breathtaking: colorful coral reefs, diverse fish species, majestic sea turtles, and with a little luck even dolphins and whale sharks can be observed here. Visibility is often excellent, and the water temperatures are pleasantly warm. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, the Watamu Marine National Park offers dive sites for every level and guarantees an unforgettable adventure in the midst of an intact underwater world.

With 16 dive sites offering depths between 5 and 45 meters and accessible in just 20 to 40 minutes by boat, Watamu is a diverse diving area. The water temperature remains pleasantly warm throughout the year, between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius. There is also the possibility of drift and night dives or wreck exploration.

From day 3 to day 5 inclusive, we will do 2 dives daily by boat and see the beautiful underwater world.

In addition, Mario will give you an insight into the beauty of Tsavo East on one of the days and another informative insight into the wonders of Kenya's underwater world on day 3.

Temple Point

Day 6 to Day 8: Tsavo East - Game Drive Safaris

Tsavo East In total, we will spend 2 1/2 days in Tsavo East to see as many animals as possible during our stay.

Day 6: Tsavo East - Game Drive Safaris

Temple Point Watamu to Tsavo East National Park Pick up from Temple Point and drive to Tsavo East National Park via the Sala Gate. On the way to Satao Camp we will do our first game drive. Afterwards we drive to the camp to fortify ourselves with a lunch. In the afternoon we do our second exciting game drive and then we relax in the Satao Camp and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 7: Tsavo East - Game Drive Safaris

Tsavo East National Park First we enjoy our breakfast before we go back to the national park for our morning game drive. Afterwards we strengthen ourselves again with a lunch and then we go on a game drive again. After an eventful day we can make ourselves comfortable in the Satao Camp, have dinner and then fall into bed satisfied.

Day 8: Tsavo East - Game Drive Safaris, back to Temple Point

Tsavo East National Park to Watamu Early in the morning, before breakfast, our last game drive takes place. After breakfast we pack our things and drive back to Temple Point.

Satao Camp The really special thing about the Satao Camp is that it is not fenced! This means that if you have breakfast, for example, it is possible that the elephants are taking a bath at the waterhole in front of your tent. Not only elephants have access to the camp, all wild animals of the national park! But don't worry about the big cats, the camp is well guarded and of course there are plenty of security precautions.

******************** Important Note********************

The itinerary has been carefully prepared and planned. However, due to weather and environmental conditions, changes in animal behavior patterns, or changes in local conditions, the schedule may need to be changed at short notice. It is also possible that we will not see any of the Big 5. The chances are very good, but we are dependent on the mood of the animals. We are not in a zoo and that makes our stay very special. All this does not constitute a reason for cancellation or reduction. Of course, we guarantee our utmost commitment to ensure a perfect and safe holiday for our guests.
